The Hilton Head Island Bridge blog™ or HHI Bridge blog™ https://hhibridge.blogspot.com/ is dedicated to a better understanding of the game of bridge. Each post focuses on a single topic: one deal, one subject, one explanation (bidding, play of the hand, etc.). There is not just one way to bid or play a hand of bridge ... there will be differences of opinion and that is OK, feel free to make a comment on a post. For more information on the HHI Bridge blog see About.
Hardly a week goes by that I don't get some kind of question such as "how do you bid this hand" or "how do you make 4S" or "is such and such bid Alertable". This web log (blog) is my contribution to the game I love so much.
I started the HHI Bridge™ blog twice before:
... in November 2008, while teaching bridge on Hilton Head Island, SC I used web logs (blogs) to communicate with students (marketing, lessons, questions, etc.) I created the Hilton Head Island Bridge blog testing ways to communicate with the bridge community of the South Carolina Lowcountry. At the time I was sending out email blasts and knew there had to be a better way of communicating and publishing bridge stuff.
... in August 2014 I reactivated the HHI Bridge blog From August to November of 2014 I wrote 16 posts with the intention of continuing the blog. However in November of 2014 I began to write analysis for The Common Game and keeping a blog going went to the back burner.
... in November of 2014 I began to write for The Common Game (TCG). For the next 5 years from November 2014 to December 2019 I wrote week analysis for first the Monday night game and then the Tuesday afternoon game.
... from August 2016 until December 2019 the Tuesday afternoon TCG analysis was re-posted on the bridge side Bridge Winners https://bridgewinners.com/
... in March 2019 during the great corona virus lock down, in an effort to support the silent bridge community I am attempting to reactivate the HHI Bridge blog.
... the designation Okatie DBC #001 represents an analysis I agreed to publish for the Okatie Duplicate Bridge Club at Sun City Hilton Head.
