Gary Donner Bluffton, SC – Gary is an ACBL Diamond Life Master with 6500 masterpoints. Gary plays both Meckwell Precision and Hardy 2/1 Game Force. He has been playing bridge for 28+ years but only seriously the last 4-5 years. Gary's favorite bridge book is the Rodwell Files.
Dave McClintock Bluffton, SC
– Dave started playing bridge in 1970 and became a life master in 1973. He
generally plays 2/1 game-forcing with lots of gadgets or no gadgets, depending
on his partner’s preferences. The closest he came to winning a North American
title was second place in the 1978 Mixed Pairs. He took 10 years away from
bridge starting in 1990 and currently has 9,700 masterpoints.
Sam Marks Atlanta, GA – Sam is an Platinum Life Master
and an ABTA Master Teacher. Since moving to Atlanta in 1986, he has been a
constant presence in local, regional and national bridge tournaments. In 2005
he came very close to winning a national championship, placing second in the
Wernher Open pairs. Sam started teaching bridge 12 years ago, after being asked
to run the Atlanta Senior Olympics bridge competition. Over this time he has
taught juniors, adults and seniors. Sam owns and teaches open and private
lessons at the Bridge Club of Atlanta.
Geoff Phipps Bluffton,SC and
Maine – Geoff has been playing bridge over 40 years. Geoff is a
past president of District 25 and is most proud of being the only NH player to
have received the Larry Weiss trophy . The trophy is only given for
contributions to bridge at unit or district level and exhibiting both grace and
skill at the bridge table . Geoff is playing more at the club level these days
and very rarely at the Nationals. Geoff says "I enjoy reading Eddy Kantor
who displays great humor along with great insight in his writing."
Jamie Traudt Hilton Head, SC –
Jamie became a life master in 1974. He took a 40 year hiatus from
the game a few years later following his wife's attendance at her first
tournament - where she observed at the time that anyone who wasn’t smoking
appeared to be a degenerate. He definitely fit one of those
categories. Jamie took up the game again three years ago.
